Self help becomes it's own form of prison, where you get the illusion of making progress but nothing actually changes.

I know I'm late to the party haha but I loved this. Especially the part about therapy becoming a lifestyle.

The fact that it even needs a disclaimer like “this isn’t anti therapy” says a lot. Some people have made “being in therapy” part of their identity, when therapy should simply be a tool.

We also need to remember that therapists, doctors, and experts can and should be questioned. With logic, not just beliefs. They are human. They make mistakes. And real therapy is not always comfortable. Sometimes you should leave a session feeling uneasy. That discomfort is often where you have work to do.

I do believe there is a middle ground. You can reflect and self analyze without getting stuck. Personally, I stopped trying to “find myself” and started focusing on how to "create and read myself". Just noticing patterns, adjusting, and moving forward.

Most of what goes on in our heads is not fixed. It is noise. Ideas we have absorbed from others. But we can choose how to interpret them, rewrite them, and grow. At some point, you just act and let the action do the teaching.
